Every now and then, the dogs at Compassion for Greek Paws enjoy something a little different added to their daily routine.
This week, the shelter residents were treated to a special meal made from leftovers, including meat juices, bread soaked in flavourful stock, and wet food mixed together to create an extra tasty surprise.
While simple, treats like these bring plenty of excitement to the dogs and add a little variety to their day. The smell alone was enough to get tails wagging across the shelter as bowls were prepared and delivered.
Every dog enjoyed the special meal, but Tricky, who was last on the feeding round, had the final honour of making sure not a single drop was left behind. His bowl received a very thorough cleaning, much to his satisfaction. 😋🐾
Small moments like these may seem simple, but they provide enrichment, enjoyment, and comfort for dogs living in a shelter environment. A special treat, an extra cuddle, or a new experience can make a big difference to their day.
