Preparing for Summer at Compassion for Greek Paws

Compassion For Greek Paws

As the weather begins to warm up in Greece, life at the shelter becomes even busier.
At Compassion for Greek Paws, caring for dogs means constantly adapting to the seasons and making sure every animal stays as comfortable as possible.
Many of our dogs are currently shedding their thick winter coats, so regular brushing is an important part of daily care. Removing excess fur helps keep them cooler as temperatures rise and also keeps coats healthy and comfortable.
At the same time, we have been adding extra shaded areas around the shelter so dogs can rest out of the sun during the hotter days ahead.
Some existing materials from our previous shelter were reused where possible, with additional shade netting added where needed to create more cool spaces for the dogs.
Of course, shelter life always comes with a little comedy too. A few playful residents quickly decided the new shade covering looked like a toy and pulled part of it down — so repairs were soon added back onto the to-do list.
Behind every happy dog is a long list of daily jobs, practical improvements, and constant care.
Thank you to everyone who supports Compassion for Greek Paws and helps us keep our dogs safe, healthy, and comfortable all year round.
