A Special Reunion Between Rescue Friends and a Much-Loved Former Shelter Dog

Compassion For Greek Paws

reunion

Rescue work often creates friendships that stretch far beyond borders, and this week brought a particularly special reunion for Compassion for Greek Paws.

While visiting the UK for a family matter, Leanda took the opportunity to finally meet two valued members of the shelter’s fundraising team, Anne Fa and Jayne Welsh. Although they had spent countless hours talking through FaceTime and messaging over the years, this was the first time they had met face-to-face.

The visit was filled with good conversation, laughter, food, and wine, offering a chance to celebrate a friendship built through a shared passion for helping rescue dogs.

However, the highlight of the trip was undoubtedly seeing Janie again.

Janie, a former Compassion for Greek Paws resident, has gone on to enjoy the life every rescue dog deserves. Seeing her happy, relaxed, confident, and deeply loved was a wonderful reminder of why rescue work matters. As Leanda put it, Janie truly landed on all four paws.

The reunion was equally meaningful for Anne and Jayne, who later shared their gratitude for the visit and reflected on how special it was to see Janie reconnect with someone who played such an important role in her journey.

They expressed their ongoing appreciation for everyone involved in Janie’s rescue and care, including Leanda, Amanda, Sarah Hodgkins, and the many Compassion for Greek Paws supporters who helped make her future possible.

Stories like Janie’s are a powerful reminder that rescue does not end at adoption. The bonds formed along the way often last a lifetime, and seeing former shelter dogs thriving in loving homes is one of the greatest rewards rescue work can offer.

Thank you to Anne and Jayne for their warm welcome, their continued support of Compassion for Greek Paws, and for giving Janie such a wonderful home.

Until next time, Janie. ❤️🐾🏡
