Dogs Enjoy Playtime Despite Freezing Fog and Winter Weather

Compassion For Greek Paws

foggy mornings

Winter continues to bring a little bit of everything to Compassion for Greek Paws.

Over the past week, the shelter has experienced snow, rain, and now several days of thick fog, creating some truly challenging conditions. On this particular day, temperatures reached only 2Β°C, with heavy fog lingering across the area from morning until evening.

Despite the cold and gloomy weather, the dogs were still able to enjoy their daily routines. Regular exercise remains important throughout the winter months, so the dogs spent time in the run area stretching their legs, exploring, and enjoying some much-needed outdoor activity.

To keep minds active as well as bodies, the dogs also took part in focus games and enrichment activities, earning treats as rewards while practising concentration and problem-solving skills.

And, as an extra bonus, everyone finished the day with a chunk of bread β€” or in some cases, perhaps two. πŸ˜‰

Winter weather can make shelter life more demanding, but moments of play, enrichment, and treats help ensure the dogs remain happy, stimulated, and comfortable while they wait for their forever homes.

From Leanda and all the paws at Compassion for Greek Paws, we hope you have a wonderful weekend and stay safe and warm. πŸ©΅πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·πŸΎπŸ•β€οΈ
