Thanks to the support of the recent Walk with Mandy fundraiser, several stray and community dogs in northern Greece have received important flea and worm treatments to help keep them healthy and protected.
With beautiful weather providing the perfect opportunity, Leanda travelled to Tetralofos, around 28 kilometres from the shelter, carrying kibble, wet food, treats, and medication for dogs living outside the main shelter environment.
Among those receiving treatments were Raina, Koritsi, and Goldie, who were delighted to see a familiar face arrive with supplies and plenty of attention. Rihanna and Lady, who live nearby in the village, also received their treatments during the visit.
The journey also included a stop to see Ezra, Maya, and Garcia, ensuring they too received the preventative healthcare they need.
While much of the focus naturally falls on the dogs living within the shelter, Compassion for Greek Paws also works to support vulnerable dogs living in villages and surrounding communities. Preventative treatments such as flea and worm medication are an important part of maintaining their health and wellbeing.
The success of the Walk with Mandy fundraiser has helped make this work possible, allowing funds raised in Mandy's memory to directly benefit dogs who might otherwise go without essential care.
Visits like these are about more than medication. They provide opportunities to check on the dogs, monitor their condition, deliver food, and spend valuable time with animals who are always happy to see a friendly visitor arrive.
